Derek Holland pitched five innings and allowed one run and six hits, and the Texas Rangers lost their final exhibition game to Triple-A affiliate the Round Rock Express 4-3 Wednesday night. The left-hander was told last Thursday that he made the Rangers rotation. The next day he gave up eight runs and 13 hits over 4 1-3 innings against Colorado.

Young right-hander Daniel Hudson looks as if he's ready to pick up where he left off last year for Arizona. Unfortunately for the Diamondbacks, so did reliever Juan Gutierrez. Hudson didn't allow a run in 4 2-3 innings and Russell Branyan hit his fifth home run of the spring, but Texas rallied for four runs off Gutierrez in the ninth to beat the Diamondbacks 6-4 on Monday.

Texas Rangers pitcher C.J. Wilson has left his latest spring start after two innings because of tightness in his left hamstring. Wilson left Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs as a precautionary measure. He then went to the back fields and completed his work in a bullpen session.
