The Rangers scored two runs in the seventh inning to take the lead and they never looked back as they held off the Royals for the win.

Matt Harrison improved to 6-3 on the season as he tossed 6 2/3 innings. Harrison gave up seven hits and two runs while striking out four hitters. Joaquin Benoit, Jamey Wright, and Frank Francisco all pitched in relief to hold off the Royals. Francisco earned his first save of the season in the game as well.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia tied the game in the seventh inning with an rbi single and then scored on a error later in the inning for the go head and winning run. The first Rangers run came on a Brandon Boggs solo home run in the fourth inning.

The Rangers kicked off the three game series over the visiting Royals with a 9-4 victory. The Rangers got great offensive output from Nelson Cruz and Milton Bradley who both had three rbi in the game.

Cruz hit a three run home run in the third inning and finished the game by going 3-5 with three rbi. Bradley also finished with three rbi as he had a rbi single, double, and sac fly in the game. Chris Davis tacked on a solo home run of his own for a rbi while Josh Hamilton had a rbi single and Gerald Laird a rbi sac fly. Great offensive showing against the Royals!

Scott Feldman evened up his record at 5-5 by throwing seven innings and getting the win. Feldman gave up eight hits and allowed three runs to score. Warner Madrigal pitched a scoreless eighth inning before Josh Rupe threw the ninth inning and gave up two hits and one run.

The Rangers will try to take the second game of the series on Tuesday night and we will be back blogging about the team after Wednesday’s game.

The Rangers offense hit six total home runs and starting pitcher Kevin Millwood tossed a complete game as the Rangers beat the Tigers 9-1. With the win, the Rangers avoided the three game sweep at home.

Brandon Boggs, Michael Young, Josh Hamilton, Michael Bradley and Travis Metcalf all hit solo home runs in the game. Metcal also had a two run shot in the second inning. The only run that the Rangers did not score via the home run ball came in the third inning when Chris Davis had a rbi groundout.

Millwood was the start on the mound as he pitched a complete game for his seventh win of the season. Millwood is now 7-7 on the season.

The Rangers would score four runs of their own in the bottom of the eighth inning but the they still lose the game by one run. The final score being 8-7.

Scott Feldman pitched six innings and gave up five hits and three runs to get the no decision. Frank Francisco took the loss after allowing a run score in the seventh inning. Jamey Wright pitched terrible as he was charged with all four runs in the eighth inning. Just a terrible performance out of Francisco and Wright in the game as they could not keep the Rangers in the game.

The Rangers offense did try to pick up Francisco and Wright as they scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Frank Catalanotto doubled to score two runs and then pitch hitter Joaquin Arias added a double of his own to score a run. Michael Young then grounded out to score one more run. However the Rangers would still fall one run short and lose the game.

The Rangers will try to get back at the Tigers on Tuesday night. It should be an interesting game.

The Rangers were shutout and they allowed ten runs as the Red Sox had no problems Thursday night.

Tommy Hunter gave up seven hits and nine runs in only 1 2/3 innings.  Yeah, that short of an outing as the Red Sox scored nine runs in the second inning of the game. The middle part of the Rangers bullpen limited the Red Sox to those nine runs until Eddie Guardado gave up two hits and one run in the eighth inning.

As for the Rangers offense, they had six hits and left 19 runners on base while striking out seven times. It was that bad of a night for the offense.

C.J. Wilson ended up getting the victory for the Rangers and is now 1-2 on the year.  In the bottom of the ninth, the Rangers scored two runs on a Ramon Vasquez double to deep center field.  Marlon Byrd had four rbi and now has 22 rbi on the year.  Vasquez also finished the game with four rbi.  Milton Bradley, David Murphy, and Gerald Laird all finished the game with one rbi each.

Luis Mendoza the Rangers started pitched 5 1/3 innings as he gave up nine hits and six runs.  Five of those six runs were earned.  Jamey Wright sucked as he gave up three hits and two runs while only recording two outs.  Wilson who recorded the win also gave up one run.

The four game series is now tied at one game each and the Rangers will try to take the lead with a win on Wednesday.  Rangers Baseball

Wilson both stunk it up on Wednesday afternoon as they blew a lead and the Chicaco White Sox defeated the Texas Rangers 10-8.  Carlos Quentin hit a three run home run off Wilson on the first pitch her threw for the game winning hit for the White Sox.  Guardado was charged with four of the five runs in the bad 8th inning.

Rangers fans shold have known that something bad was going to happen in the game because starting pitcher Kevin Millwood had to leave the came after only 1 2/3 innings because his groing injury came back.  The bullpen pitched badly and the offense just couldn’t come back in the 9th inning to get the Rangers back in it.

Michael Young had two rbi including a solo home run for the Rangers.  Young wasn’t the only player with two rbi however as Jarrod Saltalamacchia also finished with two runs batted in.  Ian Kinsler, Hank Blalock, and David Murphy all had one rbi in the game as well.

Bad loss for the Rangers who will now be off on Thursday before the start a weekend series with the Oakland Athletics.

Luis Mendoza took the loss and is now 2-4 on the year.  Mendoza gave up nine hits and six runs in the contest as he just didn’t have it going tonight.  Dustin Nippert pitched four runs in relief of Mendoza and sucked as well as he gave up four more runs on only three hits.  Three walks and a home run really hurt Nippert.

The only runs for the Rangers came in the 8th inning when Chris Davis hit a solo home run and then Marlon Byrd walked with the bases loaded to score Ian Kinsler.  That was all there was for the Rangers at the plate however as they couldn’t match the White Sox 10 runs.

The Rangers will turn right around and hopefully win the rubber match on Wednesday afternoon.  Rangers Baseball Blog

Scott Feldman recorded the win after he threw the first six innings of the game.  Feldman gave up four hits and one run as he improved to 4-3 on the season.  Feldman did a very good job against the potent White Sox offense.  Frank Francisco, Eddie Guardado, and Jamey Wright all threw a inning each out of the bullpen.

All but one of the Rangers six runs came via the long ball.  Josh Hamilton hit a home run in the the 3rd inning that was a three run shot.  Hank Blalock then added a two run home run in the 8th inning.  The Rangers added on a insurance run in the 9th inning when Ian Kinsler had a rbi sac fly.
