The Texas Rangers got hammered by the Detroit Tigers 8-2 on Thursday. You can look at a couple stats to see why the Rangers only scored two runs. They left 19 runners on base and struckout 10 times. Can’t win the game doing that sort of stuff.
Jason Jennings took the loss which was his fourth of the season. Jennings threw five innings and gave up five hits and five earned runs. Jennings gave up three home runs in the game.
Kazuo Fukumori came in to pitch 2.1 innings and didn’t fare much better then Jennings did. Fukumori gave up five hits, three runs, and two home runs.
At the plate for Rangers, Michael Young connected for a solo home run in the first inning. David Murphy recorded a RBI with a bases loaded walk in the fifth inning as well. The Rangers just didn’t take advantage of runners on base when they needed to. Bad performance by pretty much everyone.
