It was not a good night to be a pitcher on the Texas Rangers team as they gave up 17 runs to the Detroit Tigers and lost the game 17-4. Four different Rangers pitchers gave up runs in the game as they were clobbered right from the beginning.

Starting pitcher Dustin Nippert was charged with six hits and five runs in just 4 1/3 innings. Luis Mendoza was even worse as he didn’t even record an out and gave up four hits and six runs while walking two other batters. In one inning of action, Bill White gave up three hits and five more runs. Scott Feldman didn’t want to me left out of the performance and he gave up one run as well in the game. Pitchers clearly didn’t have things working on Wednesday night.

Brandon Boggs had three of the four Rangers rbi’s in the game as he had a two run double and a rbi ground out in the game. Chris Davis had a rbi double in the eighth inning for the fourth and final rbi for the Rangers. When your pitchers give 17 runs, I don’t expect the offense to do much and that was clearly the case here.

The Texas Rangers shut out the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday afternoon 1-0 as the two teams finished up a three game series. The Rangers won the final two games of the series to take the series win which was really nice to see. The Rangers now have a 69-72 record on the season.

Dustin Nippert got the start on Wednesday and threw seven innings while giving up seven hits and striking out four batters. Great start for Nippert who picked up the win. Warner Madrigal and Frank Francisco both threw scoreless innings to finish off the Mariners in the last two innings.

The one run that Rangers got came in the first inning when Milton Bradley hit a sacrafice fly to right field that scored Michael Young from third base. That was the only run the Rangers would need because the pitchers were dominate all day long.

The Texas Rangers were blow out by the Chicago White Sox on Tuesay night by the score of 10-2.  The Rangers pitching staff gave up four runs in two different innings and really put the rest of the team in a big hole.  The series is now evened up at one game each with the rubber game to be played on Wednesday.

Luis Mendoza took the loss and is now 2-4 on the year.  Mendoza gave up nine hits and six runs in the contest as he just didn’t have it going tonight.  Dustin Nippert pitched four runs in relief of Mendoza and sucked as well as he gave up four more runs on only three hits.  Three walks and a home run really hurt Nippert.

The only runs for the Rangers came in the 8th inning when Chris Davis hit a solo home run and then Marlon Byrd walked with the bases loaded to score Ian Kinsler.  That was all there was for the Rangers at the plate however as they couldn’t match the White Sox 10 runs.

The Rangers will turn right around and hopefully win the rubber match on Wednesday afternoon.  Rangers Baseball Blog

The Texas Rangers lost to the Boston Red Sox on Monday afternoon with a score of 8-3.  Going up against the pitching of Clay Buchholz and the rest of the Boston bullpen, the Rangers struck out 10 times and were only able to get three runs.

Michael Young and Josh Hamilton each had a pair of doubles with Gerald Laird and David Murphy each picking up a double.  Laird was able to pick up his 10th RBI of the year and Hamilton picked up his 19th RBI.

Kason Gabbard was the opening pitcher for the Rangers throwing for only two innings before coming out giving up no hits and three walks.  Gabbard hurt his back when he was pitching to Kevin Youkilis in the second inning.

Dustin Nippert was brought in for 2.1 innings and picked up the loss putting him at 1-2 for the year after allowing nine hits and eight runs.  Franklyn German and Joaquin Benoit were brought in to finish the game..  All together the Rangers bullpen gave up 12 hits, eight runs, and eight walks.

Tonight the Texas Rangers will take on the Tiger in Detroit for the first of a three game series.

The Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays played fourteen innings of baseball on Wednesday night and it was the Rangers whoe came out on top with a 7-5 victory.  The Rangers scored on a wild pitch and a single in the 14th inning to score the go ahead runs.

Jason Botts had three RBI to lead the Rangers.  Botts hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and then a two run double in the sixth inning.  Josh Hamilton had two RBI and Frank Catalanotto chipped in with one RBI.

Dustin Nippert picked up the win for the Rangers and C.J. Wilson picked up his fourth save of the season.  Rangers starting pitcher Kason Gabbard pitched six innings and only allowed two earned runs and seven hits.

The only reason the game went into extra innings was because the Blue Jays score three runs in the bottom of the eigth inning off of Joaquin Benoit.
