The Texas Rangers were unable to drive the final nail into the Boston Red Sox on Sunday as Boston came from behind for the third time against Texas in this series 6-5 putting the Rangers at 7-12 on the season.  Going into the 7th inning up 5-0 against any other team would seem like a sure thing, but against Boston, the game is never over until the last out is recorded.

Kevin Millwood started the game for the Rangers and tossed six innings while giving up two earned runs.  Millwood struggled as he gave up 10 hits.  Wes Littleton then came in to pitch one and two-thirds innings and he gave up two more earned runs.

C.J. Wilson took the loss for the Rangers after giving up two earned runs without even recording an out.  Jamey Wright was finally able to get the last out in the eigth inning for the Rangers after Wilson gave up the go ahead run.

The Rangers had a lot of good hitting early in the game with Ian Kinsler, Gerald Laird, and Milton Bradley all getting RBIs and Kinsler and Bradley each picking up their first home run of the season.

With only one game against the Boston Red Sox in the series and with the Texas Rangers already behind in the series do you think they can avoid the sweep?

The Texas Rangers beat Roy Halladay and the Toronto Blue Jays Thursday evening by the score of 4-1.  Anytime you can beat Halladay, you are doing something good, so it was a very big win for the Rangers.  Hopefully they will get some momentum after this win and start playing better ball against other teams.

Gerald Lair led the Rangers at the plate with two RBI.  Frank Catalanotto and David Murphy both had one RBI as well.  The Rangers had eight hits total against Halladay which was suprising, so to score four runs off those eight hits was a very good job.

Starting pitcher Vincent Padilla threw seven innings for the Rangers and only allowed one earned runs and seven hits.  Jamey Wright pitched a scoreless eight inning and C.J. Wilson pitche the ninth inning to pick up his fifth save of the season.

The Texas Rangers completed a double header sweep by beating the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 5-4 in the second game.  We had blogged about the first game earlier so please read that post if you missed the first game.

In the second game, Jamey Wright picked up the win as he pitched in relief of Kason Gabbard who started the game but had to leave after only pitching 5.2 innings.  Wright did give up one earned run but was still able to pick up the win.  C.J. Wilson pitched the final inning to pick up his third save of the season.

At the plate for the Rangers, Michael Young got them going in the 1st inning with a solo home run.  Milton Bradley led the team with two RBI’s.  Ian Kinsler and David Murphy also had one RBI each.

The Rangers record now stands at 5-4 after the double header sweep of the Orioles.

The Texas Rangers once again played a terrible game and this time they lost to the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 8-1.  I was really expecting the Rangers to come out and play a lot better then they did.  They got behind early in the game, and were never able to crawl there way back into it.

Jason Jennings received his second loss of the short season already as he only lasted 4.2 innings while giving up seven hits and four earned runs.  He also gave up two longballs on the day.  Jamey Wright and Josh Rupe didn’t have much luck either as they let give more runs score combined.

Ian Kinsler was the lone Rangers player to have an RBI on the day.  Terribler performance all the way around by the Rangers.
