The Texas Rangers lost a close game to the Minnesota Twins on Monday night as the two teams battled into the 12th inning.  The Twins came back to tie the game in the ninth inning and eventually ended up scoring in the 12th inning to beat the Rangers 7-6.

Franklyn German took the loss for the Rangers and is now 1-3 on the season.  German gave up two hits, a walk, and one run in the 12th inning.

Scott Feldman started the game for the Rangers.  Feldman tossed six innings while giving up seven hits and five runs in the game.  He gave up one home run and struck out two batters.  C.J. Wilson tried closing the game in the ninth inning but was unable to do so as he gave up two walks and a run.  You just can’t win when you walk people late in the game…

Josh Hamilton and Ian Kinsler both hit solo home runs for the Rangers but it was Jason Saltalamacchia who led the team with two rbi.  Saltalamacchia had a two run rbi single in the seventh inning.  Milton Bradley and David Murphy both had a rbi in the game as well.

That is a tough way to lose a game, we will have to see how the Rangers bounce back from it on Tuesday night when they play the Twins once again.  Rangers Blog

The Texas Rangers struggled with the Seattle Mariners on Monday night and ended up losing 7-3.  The Rangers were only able to score three runs, and all three runs came in the seventh inning when they were already down 7-0.

Kevin Millwood started on the mound for the Rangers and tossed only three innings to take the loss.  Millwood gave up nine hits and seven runs in the game.  Millwood gave up two home runs which really hurt him.

Josh Rupe did very good as he pitched four scoreless innings in relief of Millwood.  Eddie Guardado also got a inning of action and did not allow a run.

Milton Bradley led the Rangers with two RBI while Brandon Boggs had one RBI.  Bradley had a two run double in and Boggs had a RBI groundout.  Like we previously blogged, all the Rangers runs came in the seventh inning.

The Texas Rangers were unable to drive the final nail into the Boston Red Sox on Sunday as Boston came from behind for the third time against Texas in this series 6-5 putting the Rangers at 7-12 on the season.  Going into the 7th inning up 5-0 against any other team would seem like a sure thing, but against Boston, the game is never over until the last out is recorded.

Kevin Millwood started the game for the Rangers and tossed six innings while giving up two earned runs.  Millwood struggled as he gave up 10 hits.  Wes Littleton then came in to pitch one and two-thirds innings and he gave up two more earned runs.

C.J. Wilson took the loss for the Rangers after giving up two earned runs without even recording an out.  Jamey Wright was finally able to get the last out in the eigth inning for the Rangers after Wilson gave up the go ahead run.

The Rangers had a lot of good hitting early in the game with Ian Kinsler, Gerald Laird, and Milton Bradley all getting RBIs and Kinsler and Bradley each picking up their first home run of the season.

With only one game against the Boston Red Sox in the series and with the Texas Rangers already behind in the series do you think they can avoid the sweep?
