The Texas Rangers came up one run short on Thursday night as they lost to the Los Angeles Angels 11-10.  It was a high scoring game where both offenses combined for 32 hits and 21 runs.  The Rangers had 20 hits compared to the Angels 12.  It’s too bad the offense wasn’t ablt to score more runs with all those hits.

Jamey Wright took the loss after he gave up a rbi single in the 11th inning.  Scott Feldman the Rangers starter for the night was rocked early in the game as he was tagged for six hits and eight runs in only 3 2/3 innings.  After Feldman left the game Wes Littleton pitched the next 3 1/3 innings while giving up two more runs.

Michael Young, Josh Hamilton, and Max Ramirez all had two rbi in the game for the Rangers.  Ramon Vazquez, Marlon Byrd, Chris Davis, and Brandon Boggs all helped out with one rbi each as well.  Hamilton, Byrd, and Ramirez all went deep in the game as well.

The Rangers will now begin a three game weekend series with the Chicago White Sox.  It will be the last series before the all star break so hopefully the team can finish up the first half with a series win.

The Texas Rangers were able to tie up their series with the Houston Astros at one game each with a 3-2 victory on Wednesday night.  Max Ramirez had the game winning hit which was a two run home run in the fourth inning.  There was no more scoring done in the game after the fourth inning which was odd to see for the Rangers and Astros.

Besides the two run home run my Ramirez in the fourth inning, the Rangers got a rbi sac fly in the first inning from Ramon Vazquez.  The Rangers were out hit in the game 9-7 but they made the most of their hits.  Or I should say Ramirez mad the most of his.

Scott Feldman got the start for the Rangers on the mound and only pitched four innings.  Feldman gave up six hits and two runs in the game.  Feldman also had two walks and two strike outs in the game.  Luis Mendoza did a wonderful job as he pitched three innings of relief after Feldman left the game.  Mendoza allowed three hits but did not allow a run to cross the plate.  Eddie Guardado pitched a scoreless eighth inning before C.J. Wilson shut down the Astros for his 16th save of the season.

Well the Texas Rangers didn’t get the first win of the series against the Houston Astros as they lost 4-1 on Tuesday evening.  In the in-state rivalry series it was the Astros getting off to the 1-0 start in the three game series.  The Rangers attempted a comeback in the late innings but were not able to pull it off.

Eric Hurley pitched the first six innings of the game and gave up six hits and two runs.  Hurley walked three batters while only stricking out one batter.  Frank Francisco pitched a scoreless seventh inning but then Joaquin Benoit gave up two runs and two walks as two runs scored on a Lance Berkman two run homer in the eighth inning.  Josh Rupe was finally able to get the Rangers out of the eighth inning as he got the final two outs.

Michael Young had the only rbi until the ninth inning for the Rnagers which came in the first inning on a single that scored Ian Kinsler.  In the ninth inning the Rangers got within one run when Ramon Vazquez hit a two run home run.  Other then that, the Rangers struggled at the plate.

The Texas Rangers scored seven runs in the seventh inning as they went on to beat the Kansas City Royals 11-5 on Wednesday night.  It was a good victory for the Rangers who will go for the three game sweep of the Royals on Thursday afternoon.

David Murphy led the Rangers at the plate as he went 3-5 in the game.  A grand slam by Murphy in the seventh inning blew the game wide open.  Murphy wasn’t down however, he also hit a solo home run in the ninth inning.  Ian Kinsler and Gerald Laird both had two rbi for the Rangers as well.  Josh Hamilton and Ramon Vazquez both finished the game with one rbi each as well.

Vicente Padilla improved to 8-3 on the season as he came away with the win in the game.  Padilla tossed six innings while giving up seven hits and five runs.  He walked three batters while stricking out two and giving up one home run. Jamey Wright, Eddie Guardado, and Frank Francisco all pitched one inning in relief and they all did a great job.

So will the Rangers come away with the three game sweep?  Come back Thursday afternoon/evening and read our game recap to find out!

Texas Rangers starting pitcher Kevin Millwood was rattled in the first inning as he gave up four quick runs but then he settled down and took control of the game as the Rangers defeated the Cleveland Indians 9-4.  It was awesome to see Millwood battle back and actually throw a pretty good game besides the first inning.  Millwood was able to get the win and improve to 4-3 on the season.

Eddie Guardado, Frank Francisco, Joaquin Benoit, and Jamey Wright all combined to pitched the final three innings of the game without giving up a run.  Great job by the bullpen as they did exactly what they were asked to do.

Milton Bradley and Michael Young both hit home runs in the game as both players finished with two rbi.  Young also extended his hitting streak to 21 games.  However, Bradley and Young were not the leaders for rbi in the game as Ramon Vazquez finished the game with three.  Chris Shelton also had one rbi in the game.

It was a productive three game series for the Texas Rangers even though they lost to the Seattle Mariners 4-3 in 12 innings on Wednesday afternoon.  The Rangers took two out of three games from the Rangers and are now two games away from hitting the .500 mark.

Scott Feldman threw seven innings of six hit baseball on Wednesday as he started the game for the Rangers.  He allowed three runs but only one of those was earned.  An error by Ramon Vazquez in the seventh inning really hurt the Rangers as two runs would score that inning off Feldman.

Doug Mathis, C.J. Wilson, Jamey Wright, and Eddie Guardado all pitched one inning of relief and all pitched scoreless innings.  It wasn’t until Franklyn German came into the game did the bullpen give up a run.  It’s too bad that that one run decided the ballgame.  German took the loss and his record dropped to 1-2 on the season.

Michael Young, Josh Hamilton, and David Murphy all had one rbi in the game for the Rangers.  They were just missing out on that one home run or one big hit to knock a couple more runs in.  All in all though, it was a good series for the Rangers in my opinion.

The Texas Rangers have the Seattle Mariners number right now as they have beat the Mariners the first two times in their three game series.  On Tuesday night, the Mariners commited four errors and the Rangers took advantage of them as they beat the Mariners 5-2.

Kason Gabbard pitched 5 1/3 innings to start the game for the Rangers.  He allowed five hits and two runs as he got the no decision in the game.  Josh Rupe got the win as he pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief after Gabbard left the game. Ruper is now 2-1 on the season.  Eddie Guardado picked up his first save of the season as he closed out the Mariners in the ninth inning.

Ramon Vazquez led the Rangers with two rbi.  Vasquez had a sac fly in the sixth inning and then a rbi single in the eighth inning.  Gerald Laird had a rbi single in the second inning and Ian Kinsler had a sac fly in the eighth inning as well.

The Rangers will go for the three game sweep when they play the Mariners in an afternoon game on Wednesday.  Rangers Blog

The Texas Rangers only had five hits against the Kansas City Royals but they made sure that two of them were home runs as they went onto beat the Royals 2-1.  Ian Kinsler and Ramon Vazquez both hit solo home runs of Royals starting pitcher Zack Greinke to lead the Rangers to the victory.

Sidney Ponson picked up the win which was his first of the season.  Ponson tossed eight innings and only allowed six hits and one run.  Don’t ask me how Ponson pitched so well, I didn’t even expect to see him make a start for the Rangers this year!

C.J. Wilson pitched the ninth inning to pick up his sixth save of the season.
