The Texas Rangers came up one run short on Thursday night as they lost to the Los Angeles Angels 11-10.  It was a high scoring game where both offenses combined for 32 hits and 21 runs.  The Rangers had 20 hits compared to the Angels 12.  It’s too bad the offense wasn’t ablt to score more runs with all those hits.

Jamey Wright took the loss after he gave up a rbi single in the 11th inning.  Scott Feldman the Rangers starter for the night was rocked early in the game as he was tagged for six hits and eight runs in only 3 2/3 innings.  After Feldman left the game Wes Littleton pitched the next 3 1/3 innings while giving up two more runs.

Michael Young, Josh Hamilton, and Max Ramirez all had two rbi in the game for the Rangers.  Ramon Vazquez, Marlon Byrd, Chris Davis, and Brandon Boggs all helped out with one rbi each as well.  Hamilton, Byrd, and Ramirez all went deep in the game as well.

The Rangers will now begin a three game weekend series with the Chicago White Sox.  It will be the last series before the all star break so hopefully the team can finish up the first half with a series win.

The Texas Rangers scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning as they beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-4 on Wednesday night.  The Rangers did the unthinkable as they scored three runs off Angels relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez.  Wow, what a win it was for the Rangers!

Michael Young had a rbi single to get the scoring starting in the 9th inning and then Josh Hamilton hit a walk off two run home run to win the game for the Rangers.  Hamilton has been a stuf all season long and he stepped up once again for the team.  Before the big ninth inning, Jarrod Saltalamacchia was the only Rangers player to have a rbi in the game as he had a rbi single and a rbi sac fly early in the game.

Jamey Wright pitched the eighth and ninth innings to get the win and is now 5-3 on the season.  Rangers starting pitcher Warner Madrigal pitched the first three innings and allowed four hits and one run.  Josh Rupe then tossed the next three innings in the game and gave up one more run.  The Angels scored two more runs off of Frank Francisco as well.  The bullpen really got bailed of the game by Young and Hamilton.

Josh Hamilton had two more rbi and Matt Harrison earned his first victory as the Texas Rangers defeated the Los Angeles Angels by the score of 3-2 on Tuesday evening.  The Rangers only had six hits in the game but they made sure those six hits were enough to beat the mighty division leading Angels.

Hamilton had a rbi sac fly to get the Rangers on the scoreboard in the first inning.  He then added a rbi single in the sixth inning that gave the Rangers the lead for good.  Chris Davis also had a solo home run in the fifth inning.

Harrison picked up his first victory after throwin seven innings and allowing five hits and two runs.  Harrison did a very good job against the Angels lineup that is known to really score some runs.  Harrison’s only mistake of the game was in the fifth inning when Garret Anderson had a two run single.

Eddie Guardado threw a scoreless eighth inning before C.J. Wilson closed the door on the Angels in the ninth to pick up his 22th save of the season.

The New York Yankees put a pounding on the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night as the Yankees beat the Rangers 18-7.  Yeah the Rangers scored seven runs and still lost the game by 11 runs!  You don’t hear of that very often but that is exactly what happened.

Luis Mendoza gave up four hits and six runs in only 4 2/3 innings.  Warner Madrigal recorded one out in the game but also gave up five hits and six runs!  Jamey Wright pitched only 1 2/3 innings and was charged with seven hits and six runs.  It wasn’t a good night to be a Rangers pitcher!

Milton Bradley and Chris Davis both hit two run home runs in the game for the Rangers.  Jason Hamilton also had two rbi while Michael Young chipped in with one run.

Just a bad game for the Rangers, but they still took two out of three against the Yankees so it was a good series overall.  Rangers Blog

Michael Young single in the top of the ninth inning and Ian Kinsler scored the game winning run for the Texas Rangers as the Rangers defeated the New York Yankees by the score of 3-2.  Great win for the Rangers all the way around as the pitching staff pitched good and the offense did just enough to get the victory to go up 2-0 in the three game series.

Besides Young’s rbi in the ninth inning, the Rangers got one rbi each from Chris Davis and Jarrod Saltalamacchia.  Davis and Saltalamacchia both had rbi singles in the second inning off of Joba Chamberlain.

Frank Francisco even his recorded at 2-2 as he picked up the win in relief for the Ranges. C.J. Wilson was able to pick up his 19th save of the season in the ninth inning.  Rangers starting pitcher Kevin Millwood lasted five innings to get the no decision.  Millwood gave up five hits and one while striking out six Yankees.

The Ranges will now go for the three game sweep against the Yankees on Wedneday.  Rangers Blog

The Texas Rangers picked up a huge win over the New York Yankees on Monday night by the score of 2-1.  The Rangers got a great performance by their pitching straff as they held the powerful Yankees offense to only two runs and four hits.

Scott Feldman pitched 5 2/3 innings to pick up the victory and improve to 2-3 on the season.  Feldman gave up four hits and one run, three walks, three strike outs, and gave up one home run.  Pretty quality start for Feldman.

The hightlight of the night however was the Rangers bullpen.  Three relief pitchers combined to throw 3 1/3 innings and not allow a hit or run.  Frank Francisco, Jamey Wright, and C.J. Wilson all pitched wonderfully.  Wilson notched his 18th save of the season in the game as well.

Josh Hamilton and Chris Davis supplied both rbi’s for the Rangers.  Hamilton had a rbi single in the third inning and Davis had a rbi double in the fourth inning for the Rangers.  Not the best night at the plate, but it was good enough to beat the Yankees.

The Texas Rangers were unable to beat the Houston Astros on Thursday night as they lost by the score of 7-2.  With the loss, the Rangers lost the series to the Astros as they only won one game and lost two.  The Rangers now have a 40-40 record on the season.

Kevin Millwood pitched five innings and gave up 12 hits and seven runs.  Millwood was hit hard the entire game and took the loss and and is now 5-4 on the season,  Josh Rupe, Joaquin Benoit, and Jamey Wright all pitched one inning of relief and did not allow a run to score.

The first Rangers run came in the eighth inning when Ian Kinsler singled to center and David Murphy scored.  In the ninth inning, Marlon Byrd had a rbi triple that scored the Rangers second run of the game.  Those were the only two runs for the Rangers on the night as they had all sorts of problems against Astros starting pitcher Wandy Rodriguez.

The Texas Rangers were able to tie up their series with the Houston Astros at one game each with a 3-2 victory on Wednesday night.  Max Ramirez had the game winning hit which was a two run home run in the fourth inning.  There was no more scoring done in the game after the fourth inning which was odd to see for the Rangers and Astros.

Besides the two run home run my Ramirez in the fourth inning, the Rangers got a rbi sac fly in the first inning from Ramon Vazquez.  The Rangers were out hit in the game 9-7 but they made the most of their hits.  Or I should say Ramirez mad the most of his.

Scott Feldman got the start for the Rangers on the mound and only pitched four innings.  Feldman gave up six hits and two runs in the game.  Feldman also had two walks and two strike outs in the game.  Luis Mendoza did a wonderful job as he pitched three innings of relief after Feldman left the game.  Mendoza allowed three hits but did not allow a run to cross the plate.  Eddie Guardado pitched a scoreless eighth inning before C.J. Wilson shut down the Astros for his 16th save of the season.

Well the Texas Rangers didn’t get the first win of the series against the Houston Astros as they lost 4-1 on Tuesday evening.  In the in-state rivalry series it was the Astros getting off to the 1-0 start in the three game series.  The Rangers attempted a comeback in the late innings but were not able to pull it off.

Eric Hurley pitched the first six innings of the game and gave up six hits and two runs.  Hurley walked three batters while only stricking out one batter.  Frank Francisco pitched a scoreless seventh inning but then Joaquin Benoit gave up two runs and two walks as two runs scored on a Lance Berkman two run homer in the eighth inning.  Josh Rupe was finally able to get the Rangers out of the eighth inning as he got the final two outs.

Michael Young had the only rbi until the ninth inning for the Rnagers which came in the first inning on a single that scored Ian Kinsler.  In the ninth inning the Rangers got within one run when Ramon Vazquez hit a two run home run.  Other then that, the Rangers struggled at the plate.

Texas Rangers closer C.J. Wilson blew another game as he was charged with two runs in the top of the ninth inning that tyed the game at 4-4.  However, thanks to a Michael Young rbi single that scored Ian Kinsler, the Rangers were able to come back and beat the Braves 5-4.

I’m not sure what is up with Wilson and I really hope that it is just a slump that will last these past two games.  Jamey Wright actually gave up the tying run in the ninth inning on a sacrafice fly but the run was still charged to Wilson.  Wright was charged with the blown save but picked up the win to improve his record to 4-2 on the season.

Scott Feldman actually pitched a pretty game as he pitched the first seven innings of the game and only gave up five hits and two runs.  Feldman left the came and Eddie Guardado came in and pitched a scoreless eighth inning just as he was supposed to.  Feldman and Guardado did their jobs that is for sure, Wilson and Wright however did not.

Brandon Boggs hit his third home run of the season which was a three run home run in the sixth inning to lead the Rangers with three rbi.  Young had the other two runs batted in for the Rangers.

Good series win for the Rangers as they took two out of three games against the Braves.  They will now play the Washington Nationals this weekend.  The Rangers should win two out of three game in that series I think.
