Josh Hamilton connected on a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning as the Texas Rangers defeated the Minnesota Twins 8-7 in ten innings of action.  Good win for the Rangers who salvaged a split in the four game series with the Twins.

Chris Shelton and Hamilton both had two rbi in the game to lead the Rangers at the plate.  Milton Bradley, Gerald Laird, and Marlon Byrd all had one rbi in the game as well.  It was a balanced scoring output for the Rangers as they collected 16 total hits in the game.

Joaquin Benoit ended up getting the win and improved his record to 3-1 on the season.  C.J. Wilson notched his ninth save of the season as he closed the game out in the tenth inning.

Starting pitcher Vincent Padilla lasted only five innings as he gave up seven hits and three runs.  Jamey Wright then came into the game in the sixth inning and allowed two runs to score while only recording two outs.  Frank Francisco was able to get out of the sixth inning before pitching a scoreless seventh inning.

The Rangers are now one game under .500 at 24-25 on the season.  They will begin a weekend series with the Cleveland Indians on Friday.  Rangers Blog

The Texas Rangers were crushed by the Detroit Tigers by the score of 10-2 on Tuesday night.  It was actually a pretty even game except the Tigers hit three home runs and the Rangers only had one run.

Vincent Padilla took the loss for the Rangers has he only lasted three innings after giving up eight hits and seven earned runs. Padilla put the Rangers in a big hole, and you never want to see your starting pithcher do that.  Josh Rupe pitched the next four innings for the Rangers and gave up three runs on three hits.  Wes Littleton pitched the final inning without giving up a earned run.

Frank Catalanotto had a solo home run for the Rangers in the second inning.  The other Rangers RBI came off a Josh Hamilton sacrafice fly in the seventh inning.

The Texas Rangers beat Roy Halladay and the Toronto Blue Jays Thursday evening by the score of 4-1.  Anytime you can beat Halladay, you are doing something good, so it was a very big win for the Rangers.  Hopefully they will get some momentum after this win and start playing better ball against other teams.

Gerald Lair led the Rangers at the plate with two RBI.  Frank Catalanotto and David Murphy both had one RBI as well.  The Rangers had eight hits total against Halladay which was suprising, so to score four runs off those eight hits was a very good job.

Starting pitcher Vincent Padilla threw seven innings for the Rangers and only allowed one earned runs and seven hits.  Jamey Wright pitched a scoreless eight inning and C.J. Wilson pitche the ninth inning to pick up his fifth save of the season.
